My name is David Stocks and I am a Professional Clinical Hypnotherapist in Fife, based in Dalgety Bay, so I'm near Dunfermline, Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy. I like my job and I know I'm good at what I do. I've have conducted around 10,000 hours of Hypnotherapy sessions now.

Weight Loss Hypnotherapy in Fife

This website focuses on Weight Loss and Slimming treatment, though it does cover all that I do. You should understand that there is no miracle cure - I can't make anyone control their eating. My approach is to try to take away the negative thoughts and memories that drive people to seek comfort in food and make them feel unhappy. Everyone can be hypnotised, however, some find it easier than others, so h ypnotherapy doesn't help everyone. All I can say is, I'll do my best.

I help people who are anxious, depressed, sad, angry, jealous and who just can't fix themselves. Many of my clients have panic attacks, can't stop eating or thinking about food, etc., have fears and phobias, suffer from IBS or PTSD, have relationship problems (jealousy or sexual problems). Many clients have been abused or have been in difficult relationships in the past. They often feel that a parent didn't love them or treat them properly. There are a lot of very unhappy people out there!

Unlike many hypnotherapists in Fife, I take a very logical and scientific approach to my work. I don't believe in "past lives" nor do I try to connect with spirits, etc. To my mind, this is all nonsense.

There are many people out there who are a bit sceptical of alternative therapies. They want information. This is why I have put so much information into this web site. (I am frequently told by colleagues that I don't need to give so much detail! You don't have to read it all if you don't want to.)

I used to be a systems analyst /programmer and I look on the mind as being another system. Now, no-one really knows how the brain works, the MInd is a computer - what you get out depends upon what get put in. There is a reason why you feel the way you feel. Major events in you life you affect you deeply. You hide them in the short-term memory. 

Using Hypnosis, I help to uncover these events and move them into the Long Term Memory. Instead of feeling the emotions as if they've just happened, it feels as if it's in the dim and distant past. I like being a hypnotherapist - Fife has been my base since 2003.
